This 1906 Kenwood Victorian house had been cut up into apartments. The back of the house had odd corridors, a full bathroom and a dingy kitchen. Awad + Koontz opened up the space to create a big and bright family style kitchen.
The owner is a prolific chef and baker. The center island is 2” lower than standard so that it is easier to roll out bread and pastry dough.
The cabinets are kitted out for efficient storage.
A blind corner tray unit provides storage in a hard to reach location.
